I dedicate myself to writing in the middle of the noise. I ask and ask. When I get lost is when I see everything clearer. I think, like the writer Joan Fuster, that “every conviction – serious conviction – will become a prejudice for subsequent convictions.”<\/span><\/p>\n I was born in Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa in 1967, 30 miles south of Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n In 1979, while still a schoolboy, I started writing in my town\u2019s local newspaper. Later on, I graduated in Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n Nowadays I work as a columnist\u00a0and leader writer for\u00a0La Vanguardia<\/i>\u00a0daily newspaper in Barcelona\u00a0and for the cultural magazine\u00a0Serra d\u2019Or<\/i>,\u00a0and\u00a0the digital newspaper\u00a0Naci\u00f3 Digital<\/i>.\u00a0 I also contribute to analysis programs on radio station RAC1.<\/span><\/p>\n I combine my work as a journalist with lecturing Journalism at the Blanquerna School of Communication\u00a0and International Relations, part of the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n During my career I have worked as a political correspondent, chief commentator\u00a0and columnist for\u00a0Avui\u00a0<\/i>newspaper\u00a0and as a feature writer for\u00a0El Observador<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0El Mundo de Catalu\u00f1a<\/i>. For two years, I was also editor of the monthly magazine\u00a0Cultura<\/i>, published by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat, the Catalan government. Since 1989, I have been following the ups-and-downs of Catalan\u00a0and Spanish politics\u00a0and those of their main figures.<\/span><\/p>\n I have won several awards for my journalism, including Catalonia’s National Journalism Award\u00a0and the awards Recull, Serra i Moret,\u00a0and Ib\u00e0\u00f1ez Escofet, amongst others.<\/span><\/p>\n My last book is Assaig general d’una revolta<\/i> \/ Ensayo general de una revuelta<\/i> (“General essay of a revolt”, 2019), published in Spanish and Catalan languages.
